Among the extensive programme we want to highlight the premiere of ‘Flamingos’ by Albert Quesada, in residence at Graner in some moments of his creation process.
‘Flamingos’ is the 1st production of Mercat de les Flors within the CÈL·LULA project, a flexible structure for the creation, continuous transmission and development of dance which invites and hosts choreographers and performers. Its goal is to facilitate and produce medium- and large-scale creations.
With this new creation, choreographer Albert Quesada dives once more into the world of flamenco and its complexity. Flamingos wants to shift the stereotypes of flamenco from the viewpoint of a contemporary creator. Trained at MDT (Amsterdam) and P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels), Albert Quesada produces work that’s based on the exploration and translation of musical structures and compositions into choreography, and is an invitation to the audience to perceive and listen to the proposed pieces.
