We are Co-Inspirantes, a group from Chile dedicated to theoretical-practical experimentation regarding performance arts from an interdisciplinary perspective. We came together in the year 2015 with a group of collaborators from the fields of dance, theatre, philosophy and literature. As a group, we are interested in investigating and prioritising the process of creation over its result. Since then, we have been working on the creation of the CENIT piece, research on which began in August 2015. We are currently developing our second performance creation titled “Si no puedo bailar, tu revolución no me interesa” [If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution]. The group is directed by ourselves, Loreto Caviedes (choreographer and performer) and Camila Rojas (director and performer). We are both interested in combining different languages, creative performance devices from an interdisciplinary perspective, problematising the statute of the body on stage.

ABOUT THE PROJECT IN RESIDENCE:
In this project, our aim is to interpret the iconic phrase by Emma Goldman (1869-1940): “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution”, through an interactive mise-en-scene. What interests us about this phrase, which is so powerful it became a slogan, is that it is still valid today. The title brings two apparently disparate notions together: dance and revolution. The questions that we will be discussing during the residency are: Which relationships can be established between the notions of dance and revolution? How can we create a revolution of bodies in movement? Can revolution be considered not only as a desire for transformation, but also as a desire for a pleasurable experience?
