Open call, 2020

Born in the 80´s in Badajoz, I was a high competition gymnast in my childhood. At the age of 17 came to Barcelona to be a dancer. I graduated in contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre. Then I entered in the young company I.T. Dansa directed by Catherine Allard, there I was lucky to learn works by Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharín, Stijn Celis, Gustavo Ramirez, Nacho Duato, Uri Ivgi, Wim Vandekeibus amongst others. I danced in Metros Dance company by Ramon Oller and Thomas Noone Dance where I danced and traveled around the world. Then I came back to school tho study Choreography, in the meantime I became Gyrotonic® trainer, I had a baby and I made short  dance pieces.  Always my experiences are attached to the body  it´s sensations and memories.

In 2016 I started my choreographic career by the name Siberia, the region of Extremadura where I came from. My first long piece La Piel Vacía has been awarded several times and is running since 2018. In February 2020 we will tour in Sweden. After this work I started to question myself and initiated a new research on my own language. In 19-20 season I´ll be collaborating with Sat Teatre in the frame of ALIANSAT project.

ABOUT THE PROJECT IN RESIDENCE:

L E V E is a choreographic research about lightness and its contradictions, inconsistency, the ephemeral, the provisional in relation to our body and relations. We want to explore those ideas  in our bodies but also in the way we face creation and methodology. Integrating this way of life, of being.
