Mercedes Boronat is an artist in residence at Graner, with El Cos Respira project, which started in 2015 with the purpose of offering a process of personal transformation and social cohesion of empowerment that improves the quality of life, social integration and personal development of women in La Marina neighborhood.
The first edition was attended by a group of 23 women of all ages who worked for 4 months at the Graner and a final performance: Inner Landscape. The second edition gave continuity to the project and there were 10 meetings throughout the year and a performance (Angles) that was shown at the MNAC. In 2018 there will be a performative piece of the process of these two years of co-work. There will be 3 open shows for 90 people (30 people each).
With ‘El Cos Respira’, the 25 participants of the 2017 project, women from La Marina district, participate and experience a creative space and time that fosters personal creativity and experience. Performative work is an important part of the process: performance is a personal work in order to restore the full power of transformation and emotions, a tool for personal evolution. A state of deep empowerment that works from the consciousness of the body.
