Blanca Tolsá
Blanca Tolsá is a dancer based in Barcelona, where she trained in contemporary dance, and has worked and learned with choreographers such as Lipi Hernández, Ariadna Montfort, Raquel Klein, Albert Quesada, Jacob Gómez, Magdalena Garzón, Anna Macau, Constanza Brcnic, Georgia Vardarou, Núria Guiu, and Paloma Muñoz Siberia. In 2019, she began to develop an interest in choreography and embarked on a path to explore more deeply the potential of form, its most imperceptible details, and to investigate what other rhythms (antiphrasing) might emerge through a thorough treatment of textures and journeys through the imagination.
She is interested in creating spaces that lead toward the illusory and fantastical, crafting dissonant atmospheres that awaken unclassifiable sensations. She works with the voice–movement relationship and its possible desynchronizations. She premiered Ecoica, her first solo work, at the Festival Dansa Metropolitana 2022 in Barcelona.
