Within the context of MANIFESTA, the European nomadic biennial celebrating its 15th edition in Barcelona in 2024, we are connected with the project Heliofilia, an artistic investigation by Lola Lasurt related to the environment of Els Amics del Sol (a pioneering naturalist movement born in Barcelona in the summer of 1915). The aim of this group was to escape the urban environment by organizing outings to the beach of Can Tunis, located in our neighborhood of La Marina del Port, which has since disappeared due to the repeated expansions of the Port of Barcelona.
The research is based on the recovery of archives, documentation, and testimonies about this collective, with the aim of updating its legacy. Part of the project materializes in a series of artistic reenactments (under the name of choreographed walks) carried out in collaboration with choreographer Mireia de Querol, who will develop their movement research at the Graner.
