The first edition of the Moujuïc Dance Festival, curated by Graner in collaboration with Castell de Montjuïc, took place on September 18th and 19th, 2021. Two daily performances were selected to showcase the research and creative processes of the artists to a diverse audience, with access to culture as the main focus. The program encouraged exploration of the Castell’s surroundings, an ideal setting for the visibility of these works outside conventional spaces.
The first edition of Moujuïc included four performances and two scenic capsules. These pieces were: Cossoc, a street dance duo created by Magí Serra and Anamaria Klajnšček; Residencia0, a reflection on creation by the Llego Tarde collective; Rojas by the Miquel Barcelona Company, which collects testimonials from the Spanish Civil War and recovers artistic expressions from that period; Tradere, a piece by Laia Santanach resulting from research on tradition from a contemporary perspective. Additionally, there was a short piece each day by the Symbiosi Collective, in the Pati d’Armes.
In total, two sessions were offered, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, with two performances each day. Tickets were priced at €3 per day, including a drink, with a two-day pass available for €5, also including a drink. Tickets could be purchased on the Castell’s website.
