Javi J. Hedrosa and Paula Romero, resident artists of Graner 23 in the practical methodologies category, have been conducting a laboratory with spectators within the Boombeta cycle to gather memories, carry out a transmission exercise, and explore the question of “what brings us back to the theater?” To finish the laboratory, on Thursday, July 13th, they open the workspace, inviting us to engage in an installation device to share the tools they have used during the laboratory and other materials that have emerged from it.
Practical information:
- Thursday, July 13th 2023 (Boombeta)
- At 8:00 PM
- At Graner (C/Jane Addams 14-16 How to get there)

Lo Memorable arises from a previous project titled FOSC. In this project, we questioned the role of the spectator in contemporary scenic events, the role of memory, and what remains of the theatrical event once it has ended. When the performances end, there are various records such as program notes, recordings of the piece, photographs, etc. But this is not the work itself. There is nothing comparable to the spectator’s experience. We continue to ask ourselves what is remembered from the scenic event and what ways we have to transmit these experiences that are as ephemeral as the lived works. Through this research, we aim to encourage a circulation of the reception of live art works that leave no material trace.
We are Javier J. Hedrosa and Paula Romero. We both work in the field of performing arts in various capacities, such as performers, choreographers, researchers, or educators, to name a few. We have worked together previously and are now joining forces again to investigate the question of memory within the theatrical communicative act and the transmission of the performative scenic event. Within this ephemeral ritual, we are interested in understanding territorial issues and microhistory, focusing on the spectator.
