Mireia de Querol and Ursa Sekirnik

We are Urša Sekirnik and Mireia de Querol, choreographers, dancers, and educators who have been collaborating for several years within the framework of the Big Bouncers collective and also with our own projects. Our artistic background, which complements itself when deciding to collaborate and carry out collective creation projects, has been focusing, on the one hand, on understanding movement language always from parameters of play, and on the other hand, on linking work with teaching and participatory activities. We are interested in research regarding different frameworks and proposals that link the artistic fact and the language of movement with participation and work with different collectives. We are interested in generating contexts for participatory stage proposals, which can adopt formats and hybrid frameworks between participatory action or the more classic format of intergenerational workshops around body language.

Residency project

Interlúdic is a project that, through the idea of play, links the body, space, and relationships between people in a playful and creative way to generate a participatory scenic game. For this project, we want to emphasize the intergenerational aspect. Typically, educational contexts tend to work with very specialized age groups, in order to refine the most suitable transmission strategies for each age. We are interested in exploring strategies that can promote interaction between different generations, allowing relationships to be built between people of different ages and backgrounds, in order to imbue common spaces among diverse individuals with a playful quality and careful attention.
