Mar García and Javi Soler

Mar Garcia and Javi Soler are dedicated to research surrounding the staging of our artistic specialties: sound and movement, as well as establishing the relationship between both disciplines, exploring, or rather strolling along, the line that separates them, finding points of connection through scenic action and the creative process. Our type of work can currently be summarized by the two productions we have carried out, which are RECORD: What’s going to happen to us?, producing a song on stage through movement, and our son Nicolasito Pertusato, which translates Velázquez’s painting Las Meninas into a scenic piece, almost like a musical. Beyond finding a scenic form in the dance-concert, one of our main objectives is to approach the outcome to all kinds of audiences.

Residency project

As a company motivated by scenic research and the relationship between movement and sound, Ius Osculi represents a new project from which to continue exploring the boundaries of both disciplines. The right to kiss, the symbolic duality of the kiss as an action, and wine form the conceptual framework from which we intend to begin the theoretical and scenic research of Ius Osculi, a project that we see as an opportunity to dedicate the necessary time to research and prioritize it over production.
