3RD EDITION OF THE ARTISTIC ACTIONS CYCLE IN LA MARINA
Driven by Graner and focused on art, community, and education, each edition of Boombeta proposes different activities linked to the popular, amateur, and experimental, without giving up risky and meaningful aesthetic experiences. In this context of proximity and work with the neighborhood’s residents, BooMBeta aims to open a reflection on concepts such as living memory, craftsmanship, or the body as a place for learning. Artistic actions to share for everyone: artists, neighbors, passersby, and anyone who wants to join in!
All activities are free of charge.
- From July 1st to 4th, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Graner: OUTSIDE CLASSROOM – SUMMER COURSE on pedagogies and bodily practices
Aimed at primary, secondary, and high school teachers in the La Marina neighborhood.
This course is recognized by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya as a permanent training activity.
Working outside the classroom involves breaking with classical learning structures (classroom, students, teacher, studying, exam, pass, fail). To escape the idea that education has detached from experience, Outside Classroom is proposed as a meeting place between creators and teachers to experiment and think together, a space for making collective decisions and, perhaps, transforming what no longer serves.
- July 8th, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Graner and its surroundings: VULNUS’ INTIMATE PLAZA AND OPEN ENCOUNTER WITH NYAMNYAM
“The intimate plaza” is a proposal by Vulnus, performing arts, and research, which opens up the public space of the neighborhood. In this particular square, we will discover human books, biographical pages, chapters of stories and anecdotes, without prejudices or preconceived ideas. In parallel to this action, and as an intersection with Vulnus’ work, Nyamnyam proposes to open a collective conversation by taking a bite, to share common stories, understanding the various ways of doing, explaining, inhabiting, etc.
- July 10th, 2019, from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Jardín de los Derechos Humanos (below Graner): HARD BREAD AND VENTÚ!
Pan Duro and VenTú! come together to celebrate new forms of collective cooperation, feeding ourselves, dancing, singing, and ultimately CELEBRATING a space and a place. A participatory party that brings us closer and makes us be together.
- Tuesday, July 16th, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. at the Castillo de Montjuïc: NIGHTINGALE BY ANA BORROSA
Premiere of a dance piece created especially for the Castillo de Montjuïc! Ana Borrosa is a resident creator of Graner. “A light. Someone who takes care of you, a mother, a virgin. White lamp and plastic. An angel. The sound of the machine that cares. Liquids, plastic, whistles. Blue plastic. Poison. Poison that takes care of you. A white light that walks. Liquids, blue. A light that walks and leaves. Nun, virgin, angel, and death. More light and, always, plastic.”
- Thursday, July 18th, 2019, at 9:00 p.m. at Graner: ‘INCURABLES’ BY PERE FAURA AND DESILENCE
A post-apocalyptic dance and virtual reality spectacle. A choreographic performance with interactive technology, comparing electronic parties with the zombie universe. Interactive technology to reflect on electronic parties and club culture as one of the most obvious post-capitalist manifestations of the need for immediate physical pleasure: a way to become zombies to escape reality, even if only for a few hours.
With the support of the Barcelona Grec Festival and the collaboration of the Civic Center Casa del Rellotge and the Castell de Montjuïc.
