It is often difficult to define hybrid and transversal artistic practices and discuss their works. DAS Theatre is an educational institution that brings these artistic practices to the forefront of the current artistic discourse. With this goal in mind, the program has implemented bold pedagogical strategies, such as the renowned DasArts Feedback method. In 2011, together with philosopher Karim Benammar, DAS Theatre first defined the main obstacles that often prevent critical exchanges from having a stimulating learning effect in a collective environment.
Feedback is a fundamental element of DAS Theatre, as it is a tool for organizing many perspectives on works. While receiving feedback, artists are encouraged to make an effort to share their research process with the audience, engaging in dialogue with others and making use of the knowledge generated in the room. Most importantly, they create space for a collective thinking process. Although providing feedback, the goal is to enhance another artist’s research and work, go beyond pronouncing judgments on fundamental issues, confront the creator with their blind spots, and create a sense of (self)discipline to favor their own precision and clarity. As the promoter of the Sâlmon Festival, Graner proposes Bazar #5 as one of the actions of ENTRE, in dialogue with the festival’s curatorial team and DAS Theatre, which is also part of this collective space that emerges at different moments with actions centered around Performing Arts.
