We are novias

We are Valentina Azzati and Aina Lanas, and together we have formed WAN since 2021. They say opposites attract, and that is our secret: chaos and order find a common language that is reflected physically, in the aesthetic vision, and in the depth of details. Beyond dance, we both share a cinematic and visual interest in the stage, choreographic meticulousness, as well as the potential offered by urban and folk dances in stage creation and body work; musicality, groove, and dissociation.

Residency project

Dissociation is a term used to describe the disconnection between things that are usually associated with each other. It is often a response to the experience of feeling like a “ghost” in one’s own body, rather than the driver. As if, for moments, one could observe oneself as a double. *You are not a Ghost* speaks about the experience of splitting and dissociation on both a conceptual and physical level.
