Since the last quarter of 2022, we have participated in EQUICOM, a program promoted by the Barcelona City Council (Directorate of Community Action Services – DSAC and the Directorate of the Area of Educator City and Culture in the neighborhoods – ICUB) aimed at incorporating or reinforcing the community perspective in different facilities of the city of Barcelona for one year. In addition to participating in the learning community formed by the facilities selected in the 2022 edition, we worked with the Nus cooperative to strengthen the links between the center and its local community. The specific project we developed within the program involved finding tools and systematizing communication channels between Graner and the neighborhood to make it a more permeable and open space for the residents of La Marina.
Thus, during 2023, we had methodological support from the NUS cooperative to improve the community intent of the center with the general goal of connecting Graner with the neighborhood of Marina del Port. With them, we focused on working on the dimension of DIALOGUE, analyzing the historical context of the center’s previous and current relationship. As the final action of the program, we held a meeting with local stakeholders, aiming to reactivate relationships between neighborhood entities to build new alliances for the communication and dissemination of activities, and to explain the new courses of action of Graner in the neighborhood, especially Boombeta, with the participation of: Unió d’Entitats, Casa del Rellotge, La Bàscula, Vulnus, FOC, Biblioteca Francesc Candel, Ràdio LaMarina, La Cadena, and technicians from the Sants-Montjuïc district.
