Juan Carlos Panduro

My name is Juan Carlos Panduro and I am from Badajoz, Badajoz. Trained at L’École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels, my main areas of work are circus and poetry. In 2024, I published my first book: Romero recién cortao (Letraversal), and I am currently in the process of creating my first scenic show. I am very attracted to the exploration of hybrid spaces, as well as the limits and failures of the body. My desire as an artist is to find a circus language that is my own, one that moves away from the extraordinary but remains in the strangeness, one that inhabits the stage without making it cannibalistic. Fascinated by palindromes, reduplications, and triads of flat words, because they are sung, I always explain that when I was a child I was asked for a poem for the Virgin and I am still trying, but it’s true! And what is written endures everything.

Last project in residence

Salar la pena is a scenic project that seeks to hybridize poetry and circus, taking the body in crisis as its central axis. Through movement, technical form, and voice, a body—my lyrical self—attempts to construct a liturgy of cleansing or emptying, exploring failure, loss, desire, and everything that connects the divine with the monstrous.
