Lorena Nogal
Born in Barcelona in 1984, she is an artist and creator who trained as a dancer at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona, graduating in 2005. She later refined her technique with the IT Dansa company, working with renowned international choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Jirí Kylián, Stijn Celis, and Nacho Duato. Since 2008, she has been a key figure in the artistic team of LA VERONAL, both as a choreographer and a dancer, collaborating closely with Marcos Morau.
Throughout her career, she has received several awards and recognitions for her outstanding work as a performer. In 2024, she was awarded the Spanish National Dance Prize for Best Performer by the Ministry of Culture of Spain and received the Best Female Performer Award at the Talía Awards, presented by the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts. In 2018, Lorena founded the project HOTEL Col·lectiu Escènic, a Catalan dance company aimed at generating creative intersections that allow for the exploration of other creators’ worlds.
In addition to her work with HOTEL, Lorena has developed her own creations and collaborated on various artistic projects. Among the most recent works she has contributed to—as creator, performer, or movement/directing assistant, depending on the project—are Mata’m Psicosi by Lucia del Greco (2025), Pura Passió by Lucia del Greco (2024), Expectativas by Marta Nogal (2024), AQUÍ by HOTEL Col·lectiu Escènic (2023), El elogio de la fisura (2022), and ALEGORÍAS (El Límite y sus Mapas) by Paula Comitre (2022), all of which are currently on tour.
