Lorena Nogal

Lorena Nogal (Barcelona, 1984) trained at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and refined her technique at IT Dansa. Since 2008, she has been a key member of LA VERONAL, collaborating closely with Marcos Morau and presenting their work in internationally renowned companies and venues. She has received numerous awards, including the 2024 National Dance Award and the Talía Award for Best Female Performer. In 2018, she founded HOTEL Col·lectiu Escènic, a dance company focused on collective creation. She combines her artistic practice with teaching, offering workshops on body dissociation and the KOVA method. Among her recent works are El elogio de la fisura, AQUÍ, and PICASSa.

La Protagonista (2026) is a natural evolution in the artist’s creative path following El elogio de la fisura and PICASSa, two works that transformed her understanding of creation and drove her research into change, perception, and the connections between body and space. In this solo, the body becomes her main tool of study: an alchemical laboratory in which she dissolves, reconfigures, and allows herself to be transformed by everything around her. The scenography, costume, and objects mutate with her, creating a living ecosystem in which nothing remains fixed. Inspired by the mutable and dreamlike logic of Alice in Wonderland, the piece traverses a landscape oscillating between the absurd and the sacred, between chaos and calm. It is a sensory journey in which she explores vulnerability as creative power and fragility as a space of revelation. La Protagonista is an investigation into what constitutes us. The work functions as a psychoanalysis in motion, a poetic cartography made of materials, textures, and states of being that reveal the folds of identity.
