Andrés Waksman

After a long period devoted to directing—where I find increasing delight in composition, its complexity, and its infinite possibilities, and in discovering dance in diverse bodies—I find myself once again training and working with my mature body. The feeling of a long journey is vivid, and at the same time, it dances with new codes that call for inquiry, depth, and precision. It’s been a while since I’ve felt the need for the stage, yet sometimes it’s an act of loyalty—a love story that occasionally calls me back, and I respond. This time, I want to bring the new into relation with the unknown, the present body and its history with what is yet to be lived. Even though I have found my own style, my artistic language is always evolving, in search of an ever more refined visual poetry.

Residency project

ETERNA is a piece that seeks to create a timeless space—a place without time, a non-place imbued with non-time. The tangible, material bodies of two human beings venture into the impossible. A danced, poetic, and visual inquiry into the timeless spaces that dwell within us, and that, at a given moment, we too may inhabit.

Direction: Andrés Waksman · Creation and performance: Linn Johansson and Andrés Waksman · Set and costume design: Pascal Wyrobnik · Lighting: Conrado Parodi · Music composition: Rodrigo Rammsy · Creative collaboration: Hansel Nezza / Samuel Letellier
