Aplec 2025

APLEC is the context that brings together the annual residents selected through a public call. Through two gatherings held at Graner—one at the beginning and another at the end of the year—we propose a space for recognition and celebration, aiming to create a community that stays connected throughout the year, beyond the periods when the artists are physically present at Graner.

At the first gathering of 2025, the artists selected through the public call were able to share body-based practices proposed by two of the residents (Alberto Velasco and Alina Sokulska), and they also had time to present their projects. Each resident decides whether to present their overall body of work, the specific project they will develop at Graner during the year, or the questions they are currently exploring in their creative process. A dynamic of listening, questions, and answers was created, linked to the Graner archive and the action La Caixa Negra (“The Black Box”). The aim is to generate a container of materials that serve as a trace of the creation or research process that the resident artist will undertake at Graner. The starting point of La Caixa Negra was precisely the questions that each resident gathered from their peers during the project presentations.

The Graner team also presented the facility’s lines of work, opening spaces for permeable governance and feedback from the residents. The second gathering will take place in November or December 2025, bringing the year to a close.
Aplec also featured the participation of Àngels Margarit and Marc Olivé, representing Mercat de les Flors. After the presentations, spaces for relaxation and socialization were created, including a collective lunch.

Participants in the first Aplec 25 meeting: Joaquín Collado, Lautaro Reyes, Candela Capitán, Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, Alberto Velasco, Lu Chieregati, Reinaldo Ribeiro, Javier Martín, Sandra Sotelo, Estampa, Juan Carlos Panduro, and Alina Sokulska.
