the book of sand is a macromodular and transdisciplinary project that proposes a reading of the Borgesian concept of infinite knowledge, drawing on practices of spontaneous composition, geomancy systems, and self-investigation/self-fabulation. One of its modules takes the form of a lecture-performance titled research the fck out of it, in which the complex, stratified structure of its scores is unraveled for the audience, using it as a formula to reveal the accumulation of one’s own DNA and its connection with identity narratives. Its purpose is to explore and question: what?, when?, how?, and even how far? is “understanding.”
