We have officially launched the 2025–26 educational program in the schools of the Marina de Port neighborhood!
In primary education, we are working with Escola Enric Granados, with 4th grade students, through the project SENTIENS by Emma Villavecchia; and with Escola Bàrkeno, also with 4th grade, through the project YOUR BODY, YOUR TEACHER by Claudia Solwat. In secondary education, the program takes place at Institut Montjuïc with 9th grade students (3rd year of compulsory secondary education) through the project THE SELF AND THE WE by Joao Lima; and at Institut Lluís Domènech i Montaner with 8th grade students (2nd year of compulsory secondary education) through the project DEBUT: A TRAINING IN SHAME by Johan Pérez Viera.
It has been a very dynamic start! We have already met the different artists, connected with their creative universes, and shared our first artistic experiences. Among them was a visit to Mercat de les Flors to attend several performances: students from both secondary schools, Institut Montjuïc and Institut Lluís Domènech i Montaner, saw VORTEX by the company Humanhood; Escola Bàrkeno enjoyed COMETA by Roser López; and Escola Enric Granados attended MIRKIDS by Prototype Status / Jasmine Morand. An unbeatable way to begin, allowing ourselves to be inspired by proposals that open the doors to the universe of movement and performing arts language.
In addition, both primary groups attended an open rehearsal by the company Azkona-Toloza at El Graner, currently in the creative process of their new performance OUR GALACTIC REFUGE, where the students became protagonists of the stage action. In the classroom, we are thus beginning with renewed energy a collective process of discovery through research and artistic creation.
El Graner’s educational program is part of the “Toolbox” program, promoted by the Barcelona Neighborhood Plan, which introduces artistic practices into the school curriculum, mediated by 30 de febrero. On behalf of El Graner, the mediation is led by Mireia de Querol.
