Open studio by Mila Ercoli

Mila Ercoli, a Graner 2026 resident in the Research programme, opens her workspace in an open studio where she will share materials she is developing as part of her research on light and the body.

Appear-Disappear is a performative act, a psychomagical practice that inhabits the boundary between the visible and the invisible. Through the analogue manipulation of light, it transforms space into a stage of optical illusions where the real and the impossible intertwine. The performance unfolds as a ritual, an ephemeral and supernatural experience that engages perception and awakens sensitivity. A space where different elements come together to materialise what normally remains hidden, opening doors to unknown dimensions. It is a choreography with light, time, and space; an invitation to inhabit a moment suspended between the tangible and the intangible, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the invisible becomes present.
