Cláudia Dias

Cláudia Dias was born in Lisbon in 1972. Began her Dance training at the Academia Almadense, proceeding with a scholarship from the Companhia de Dança de Lisboa (The Lisbon Dance Company). Further on, took a Contemporary Dance Performer course at Forum Dança and a Cultural Organizations and Project Management course at Cultideias. Cláudia is presently attending an MA in Arts of the Stage at New University of Lisbon. As a performer, Cláudia began at the Almada Dance Group, then on to the Ninho de Víboras collective. As a Re.Al. associate artist she became a central performer in João Fiadeiro’s creative work strategy and at the development, systematization and outreach of the Composition in Real Time Technique. Cláudia Dias created the pieces One Woman Show, Visita Guiada (A Guided Tour), Das coisas nascem coisas (Out of Things Things Are Born) and the performance/ installation 23+1. Along with Márcia Lança, Cláudia maintained a choreography composition workshop that later gave birth to the piece To sell: Sunny Nation with Ocean View. She was also a performer on John Romão’s play As a Country I’m Dying.
