Aleksandar Georgiev

Aleksandar Georgiev – Ace is an artist working with and around choreography between Tenerife, Skopje, Sofia, and Stockholm. His practice revolves around choreography, understood both in a strict and expansive sense, present in curatorial formats and in the creation of imaginative institutions such as the Imaginative Choreographic Center (ICC) and the queer cultural program PEC. He is the author of Fantastic Futures, The Power of S, SCREENSAVER, ATRÁS, and Anal Body / Anal Politics. His artistic interests include the “politicization of the anus,” “nostalgia as a poetic archive,” “radical tenderness,” and “imaginative structures as support systems.” His artistic and cultural work is marked by a commitment to co-thinking, co-dreaming, and co-imagining possible and necessary futures and structures.

Last project in residence

Fantastic Futures – a beginning is both a workshop and my upcoming 2026 project. The residency will support the expansion of this research toward a large-scale collective work with around 50 participants. Rooted in my recent choreographic explorations, the project engages plurality and the celebration of co-existing practices, weaving together queer nostalgia, anal politics, tenderness, and radical softness.

It opens a space to investigate slowness, retro-performativity, and these queer notions as political and choreographic positions. They are not approached as fixed practices but as generative grounds from which activations for movement and performance emerge. Over the past years, I have developed a practice centered on grace, comfort, and the pleasure of the observed body, insisting on radical softness as a continuing form of resistance.
