Andrea El Ameri
Andrea El Ameri is a choreographer, dancer and teacher with Andalusian and Moroccan roots. Her practice sits within the field of live arts, where she investigates the body as a space for identity construction, thought and transformation. Her work draws on tools and sensibilities from contemporary dance, club cultures, urban dances, improvisation and performance. In 2024 she premiered DOMA, a piece that explores the sexual and the grotesque in the female body as a strategy of resistance and agency. Created with the support of Graner, the work was presented at the Festival de Otoño in Madrid and at the Mercat de les Flors. She is currently developing Dislocadas: una fiesta móvil. As a performer, she has collaborated with internationally active choreographers and companies.
