Moaré (2017) refers to an optical phenomenon whereby, when perceiving two overlapping patterns, our brain detects a new, non-existent pattern that can even come to form images. This idea inspires a performance that starts from the gaze as interpretation and subjective perception and, therefore, as creation. Issues such as the construction of one’s own identity through the gaze of others are thus some of the concepts around which this choreography revolves. And the question is: do we see things as they are… or as we are?
