Residency project
J A U J A is a special project by Laura R. Iturralde and Carmen Triñanes. It emerges from curiosity and the desire to experiment with the stage space, giving it the time it needs. The space as a seed and substrate. An entity in which not only we are a part of, but where we want to make room for another Laura and another Carmen. Developing non-scenic facets as well as those of other artists who inhabit and need to evolve a proposal. A scientific and collective community in which the artist makes space for hypotheses, immerses in the process, and opens the stage creation to other professionals. We want to facilitate this happening.
J A U J A. 1. f. Denotes everything that presents itself as a type of prosperity and abundance.
1. expr. colloq. Used to reprimand an impertinent or indecorous action or speech.
J A U J A is a spatial and scenic investigation that seeks to place the space that inhabits the stage as a detonator, dramatic and experiential, of the theatrical act.
J A U J A is an environment where things happen, where a space is placed as an independent being, with its own laws and rhythm, and where different scenic experiences or proposals can occur.
