Clémentine Télesfort and Lisard Tranis

We are Clémentine Télesfort (France) and Lisard Tranis (Catalonia), interpreters, and creators of contemporary dance based in Barcelona. Since 2019, we have been collaborating artistically in research and scenic creation focused on movement and bodily expression as a tool for communication. Our meeting point lies in the interest of exploring bodily states that lead to the embodiment of images, characters, and stories. We share a common imaginary that arises from the curiosity to explore attention as a dramaturgical instrument, an ode to presence, which leads us to create works where everyday life gives way to the poetics of the subconscious.

Residency project

With “La Mecànica de l’Infortuni” (The Mechanics of Misfortune), we aim to bring to the stage the expressiveness that arises from bodily language and physical reflexes that come into play when facing adverse circumstances. We seek to reveal the resilience of the human being by exposing the patterns that form in the body when confronted with a challenge. It is a reflection on the creative capacity of the imagination, where irony and humor serve as outlets. We want to unveil the grotesque aspects of being while celebrating the beauty that resides in our mistakes and clumsy falls, where the authenticity of the gesture emerges. We highlight a discomfort that leads to movement, a search for creative resources.
