Cris Blanco
I was born in Peña Grande, a working-class neighbourhood in Madrid. Although I was trained as an actress, I have always developed my own artistic works. I usually perform them myself, and sometimes act in movies. I live in Barcelona since 2012 and I am an acting professor at the Dance Conservatoire at Institut del Teatre. Dance is my artistic environment, so my approach to performing arts is a choreographic one.
I like cinema very much, mostly sci-fi, and I think that my work is greatly influenced by the cinematic language, as well as by visual arts, music and popular culture. I keep holding on performing arts because the mechanisms of theatre and its conventions, the mixture of genres and formats and, specially, the contact with the audience, are still very appealing to me.

ABOUT THE PROJECT IN RESIDENCE:
Grandissima Ilussione. This is a sci-fi work on theatrical conventions. A musical vaudeville about time travel featuring 17th century marquises and tattooed technicians. A tribute to the red curtain theatre and the movies about the end of the world. A choral great show with second-hand stage design components from big productions.
