Los Detectives

Los Detectives is a company founded in 2016 in Barcelona, led by Mariona Naudin and María García Vera. Their projects explore the possibilities of the stage, as well as its limits, in order to generate their own artistic language. Coming from diverse fields ranging from anthropology to cinema and fine arts, the members combine their interests to expand and overflow their scenic language. They are driven by the desire to link humour, the body and thought, in order to delve into strategies of estrangement that seek to engage with the audience’s intelligence and bring the performers’ abilities into play.

They have premiered the stage works Kopfkino (Mercat de les Flors, Barcelona, 2016), Pienso casa, digo silla (Festival Grec, Barcelona, 2019), Concrete Matter (Dansa Metropolitana, Barcelona, 2022), and Les Chevaliers (first chapter at Festival Sâlmon 2024, second chapter at TNT 2025).

Les Chevaliers. Chapter 2, The Broken Sword (2025) draws inspiration from the imagery of Arthurian legends to question the idea of the epic and its inheritances. Not from admiration, but from the fissure: from loss, clumsiness, and irony. The knight-detectives are no longer heroes, but bodies facing the impossibility of triumph.

“Ten years have passed since three intrepid detectives set out in search of the Grail. The rain has erased the trace of their footsteps, the places where they spent the night no longer exist, and one of them has disappeared. But the other two, now turned into medieval knights, have not for a single moment abandoned the sacred self-imposed task of pursuing the impossible, the ineffable, and, in this case, also a glory that never quite arrives. Still, nothing will make their yearning falter, because it is in the attempt that their only reason for being resides.”
