Manel Salas and Núria Andorrà
Manel Salas Palau (Barcelona 1980). After studying the Higher Training Cycle in Physical and Sports Activities, he began his artistic career as a teacher, choreographer and hip-hop dancer. Teaching nationally and collaborating with companies such as Metros by Ramon Oller and Color by Rosa Maria Grau. He continued his artistic development by graduating in 2008 from the Codarts Conservatory, Rotterdam Dance Academy Netherlands, where he was able to open his doors internationally. However, he continued his artistic interests and interests by researching different disciplines related to the body and movement such as mime, butoh, improvisation and acrobatics. Since then he has collaborated on more than 40 international productions such as Paper Tiger theater partner, Julyen Hamilton, David Zambrano, Angels Margarit, Jerome Bell, Cobosmika, Editta Braun, Jasmine Morand, Arno Shuitemaker, Vloeistoff, Lantana Movement, among many others. . He currently lives between Switzerland and Spain, giving workshops internationally and developing his own work, being represented in Russia, China, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Spain. At the same time he continues to collaborate with other international artists and productions. For the past 10 years, his focus has been on instant composition. Manel was awarded the Zurich City Cultural Prize in 2020 for his contribution to the art scene. So he continues his artistic interests as a process of search in continuous transformation, between the performing arts, education and pedagogy through creativity.
Núria Andorrà: From the classicall and contemporarily background but always drawing from other sources of inspiration. Nuria proposes a universe where images, sound and the body come together to transmit the same emotions and create from an interdisciplinary perspective. She has performed with Agustín Fernández, Fred Frith, Le Cuando Nihn, Ingar Zahr, Joëlle Léandre, Mats Gustafsson, Pablo Ledesma, Nate Wooley, Frances-Marie UITT, Joe Morris, Ramon Prats, Tom Chant, Joachim Badenhorst, Yasmine Azaiez, Anne-Liis, Poll, Nuno Rebelo, Marc Vilanova, Alessandra Romboli, Christiane Bopp. And with the dancers Julyen Hamilton, Manel Salas, Constanza Brncic, Andrés Corchero, Iris Heitzinger. He has collaborated with the contemporary music groups Icarus Ensemble, Algoritmo, Ensemble abstracto, Murtra Ensemble, Barcelona 216, Kammart, Patschwork Ensemble and Morphosis Ensemble. He has also worked with Carles Santos, Hector Parra, Matmos and in different interdisciplinary performances. He received the Puig Porret award at the Vic Live Music Market 2019, the special Zirkòlika 2020 award and the “Alicia” award from the Catalan Music Academy for his interdisciplinary show “Constelaciones”. He teaches improvisation at the Esmuc and gives workshops at different conservatories in Europe. She teaches percussion at the Reus Conservatory. She is artistic director of MontMusic Festival and Improject Ensemble.
