Marc Oliveras

I am Marc Oliveras Casa, a dancer born in Catalonia. I began my career with a degree in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts in Amsterdam, followed by a Master’s in Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. I have had the opportunity to participate in various international projects and productions, from my residency with GI (Generated Identities) in Barcelona to performances in theaters across Europe. Collaborating with companies like Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and choreographers like Marco da Silva Ferreira, I have enriched my artistic background. Nowadays, I remain immersed in the world of dance, always seeking new forms of expression and drawing inspiration from every step of the way. My dedication to the art of dance is the driving force behind my growing passion for this form of artistic expression.

Residency project

GI (Generated Identities) is a solo and an installation. This piece arises from the need to understand how we, Generation Z, have been influenced by television, video games, the Internet, and other visual platforms in building our identity and forming a notion of oneself. The audience will witness how the performer transforms through different cycles of constructing and deconstructing their identity. With the aim of materializing through the body the digital fantasies in which we already participate, questioning what we have absorbed and embodied in an automated manner.
