Núria Crespo

I am currently living again in Valencia, where I am developing the Morphopop project, which began nearly two years ago as part of my final degree project in Dance Pedagogy at the Institut del Teatre (CSD). During this time, I have been supported by the research labs of the IVC, Espai La Granja, and La Mutant. I teach at Botànic Espai de Dansa and take part in research projects in both Barcelona and Valencia, such as Invocaciones Boleras by Carmen Muñoz, Prácticas sobre una masa celular by Iver Zapata, and Prototipo M.A.D by Manel Ferrándiz.

I began my artistic practice in 2017 alongside Emma Romeu, with whom I have presented several works characterized by playfulness and intimacy. I have also developed stage practices with musician Bernat Sanjuán in a project focused on the vibrational waves of sound and the body.

Residency project

Morphopop is a dance and methodological research project that aims to generate a physical state that is present, powerful, and complex, through two central axes: morpho (form/change) and pop (the dynamic principles of the term “pop”—the musical genre or artistic framework, and popular culture). In Morphopop, we use elements drawn from popping to stretch the relationship between body, space, and music through the idea of surfing—that is, breaking the literalness of all these layers of pop and playing with them, constructing a powerful body that overflows itself.
