Latest project in residence

Lo Memorable (2023) arises from a previous project titled “FOSC.” In that project, we  (Paula Romero & Javier J Hedrosa) questioned the role of the spectator in contemporary theatrical events, the significance of memory, and what remains of the theatrical experience once it is over. Why do we return to the theater? When the performances end, there are various traces left, such as the program, recording of the piece, photographs, etc. However, these are not the work itself. Nothing compares to the experience of the spectator. We continue to wonder what is remembered from the theatrical event and how we can transmit these experiences, which are as ephemeral as the lived performances. Through this investigation, we aim to foster a circulation of the reception of live artworks that leave no material imprint.
