Quim Bigas

Bio:

I was born in Malgrat de Mar and I live between Barcelona and Copenhagen. My artistic projects are articulated within the fields of choreography, dramaturgy, and informational procedures. I was part of the European Union project Dancing Museums, in collaboration with the Miró Foundation and the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona (2018-2021). In 2019, I premiered DV (Desplaçament Variable) at the Mercat de les Flors and also participated in a series of performative conferences around archives in DV (Desplega Visions). My latest works are LOS FAUNOS and ERA. Additionally, I continue to tour previous works like MOLAR or LA LLISTA. Looking ahead to 2025, I am preparing D’ENÇÀ. Since 2018, I have been an associate professor in choreography at Den Danske Scenekunstskolen in Copenhagen.

Project in residence:

D’ENÇÀ stems from the desire to create a sequence of movement to be danced in unison by a group of people. In this work, the understanding of the steps becomes a tool from which to invoke other spaces, as well as a way to carry and care for the texture of our coexistence. Dancing together and moving with the places together.
