Your Body, Your Teacher brings anatomy and body awareness closer in a living, experiential, and three-dimensional way, complementing and reinforcing some objectives of the school curriculum while offering and sharing pedagogical tools with the teachers involved in the process. Movement helps to expand, integrate, and awaken new ways of approaching body knowledge for students, who become a team of researchers and experimenters, as they are experts of their own bodies. How can we better understand this body and its anatomy through group movement practices? Moving, talking, questioning, exploring, crossing, palpating, discovering, feeling, shaking… and with this, perhaps, creating new movement habits in the classroom, an increase in body awareness, and overall well-being.
Claudia Solwat has over 20 years of experience in the field of dance, as a dancer, teacher, creator, and facilitator of creative processes. She has training in Psychology, Diafreo (integrative body method), and Mindfulness. Through dance, she engages with different groups, offering spaces to learn about the body, move it, and improve body awareness. She is part of the *Move Anatomy* project.
Claudia Solwat will conduct Your Body, Your Teacher weekly at Escola Bàrkeno (4th grade), accompanied by teacher Maria Mayor, during 2024-25 school year.
