The curation and mediation by Graner and Mercat de les Flors bring together this 2021-22 school year the choreographer Silvia Sant Funk and the Institut Montjuïc and David Climent and Institut Salvador Espriu.
Silvia Sant Funk is a Coach, teacher, dancer, and choreographer. After twenty years dedicated to contemporary dance as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, I became interested in the benefits of body awareness, movement, and creative work for anyone, regardless of their age or condition. Thus, I complement my personal research with studies in NLP, Social Presencing Theatre, and Existential Coaching, to achieve a deeper understanding of the human condition. Currently, I teach training courses under the title “The Intelligent Body” to individuals, young people, organizations, and companies aimed at reconnecting with their own bodies and wisdom, focusing on essential issues such as presence, communication, interpersonal relationships, and creativity. I also do individual coaching processes. More sporadically but equally passionately, I keep my dedication to stage creation alive, developing my own work and collaborating with other creators. In the last four years, I have been a trainer in the Tot Dansa project, which aims to bring the language of dance and stage creation to young ESO students in the region. During these intensive contacts with young people, I discover the expressive potential of adolescents and the positive impact of creative experiences through action. My current artistic research is related to the exploration of the polarity of inside and outside. How any type of vulnerability seems to tend to overcome itself by building divisions: physical, imaginary, factual… With various creative devices, I seek to make these polarities plausible to suggest new forms, spaces, and imaginaries through their cracks.
The Institut Montjuïc has a history of over thirty years of service in the Zona Franca. Its participation in EN RESiDENCIA is related to the desire to create more connections between the center and the social and cultural agents of the neighborhood and the city, while also enhancing the artistic concerns of its students. With the 3rd ESO students from Institut Montjuïc Nadia Alcario, Alexandra Carnero, Lidia García, Noa González, Daniel Gutiérrez, Tanya Hernández, Fátima Larossi, Sufyan Mohamed, Afrika Yago, Josemari Díaz, and Aitana Navarro. With teachers Vicent Santamaria de Mingo and Elies Carles Olivas.
EN RESiDENCIA is a program of the Barcelona Institute of Culture and the Barcelona Education Consortium, devised in cooperation with the Association A Bao A Qu, which brings creators to work throughout the school year in the classroom. This work, which concludes with the presentation of a piece, in this case linked to dance and movement, deeply and meaningfully connects creation, education, and mediation.
