Education

Within the educational field, Graner considers its relationship with the learning processes in the classroom and its role as a mediating agent as something under construction and constant review. We rely on an open, flexible, shared, and critical accompaniment from which to propose new methodologies of work between teachers and artists to think together about how, through the practice of dance, we contribute to improving the physical and emotional health of children and young people. From this perspective, we develop the work of the two educational programs in which we participate, Caixa d’Eines (Toolbox) and En Residència, which we promote taking into account the principles of sustainability, territory, creativity, community, and health.

Graner’s educational program is part of the Caixa d’Eines (Toolbox) program, managed by the Barcelona City Council’s Neighborhood Plan, which aims to introduce artistic practices into the school curriculum to reduce inequalities between the city’s neighborhoods.

Artists in RESiDENCE in the institutes of Barcelona is a program by the Barcelona Institute of Culture and the Barcelona Education Consortium, conceived in cooperation with the A Bao A Qu association. Graner has participated in this program since the 2012/13 school year, bringing artists into secondary school classrooms and proposing that they create a joint project with the students.
