Project The I and the We with João Lima, weekly sessions with the 9th-grade group at Montjuïc Secondary School in the Marina de Port neighborhood. With the collaboration of teacher Raquel Magdalena, within the Live Arts course.
The I and the We invites participants to explore the relationship between each individual’s uniqueness and the collective experience through the live arts. Through movement, voice, and contemporary performance creation, participants will discover new ways of inhabiting the body, listening to others, and giving artistic form to their concerns, desires, and aspirations. The process proposes a space for encounter and experimentation where each individual gesture gains meaning in dialogue with the group. Through body dynamics, improvisations, and small scenic compositions, the workshop aims to develop awareness of both one’s own body and the shared body, stimulating imagination, sensitivity, and expressiveness as pathways for self-knowledge and collective participation. The approach to the theme The I and the We will take place in a playful and creative environment. Here, the group will function as mirror, support, and challenge, exploring belonging, diversity, and acceptance.
