Before and After, Time and Possibilities at SEAT School
“We propose a work of practice, research, and collective creation with the students focused on the history of SEAT School, with the aim of developing a ‘site-specific’ project that values the school’s space from an architectural and historical point of view, its trajectory, and its impact on the life of the neighborhood and its inhabitants.
In this process, we will invite the students to explore, on the one hand, the history of SEAT School, its transformation, its various uses, the people who have inhabited it, its function within the community, and its influence on the surrounding environment; and on the other hand, the memory of the students’ own experiences throughout their time at the school.
We will approach memory and history creatively, proposing a play on temporality and the possible derivatives and/or versions of the same origin, entering the realm of possibilities, inspired by personal and collective imagination linked to a common space. Moreover, by working on the relationship between body and word, we will question the meaning we give to forms, starting from their abstract condition and giving them different interpretations.
We aim to approach the project from an integrative perspective, allowing collaboration with other teachers and enabling the students themselves to develop different skills in various areas creatively and in collaboration with their peers.”
