As a center for dance and performing arts, we promote an education that places the body and movement at the center of the experience: practicing through the body other ways of transmitting knowledge. Within the center’s educational program for the 2024-25 academic year, we aim to ensure that these body practices permeate the entire educational community, in its broadest sense: teachers, students, families, and the neighborhood.
We propose three independent sessions to share body-based artistic practices, discover the proposals of three creators with experience in educational contexts, and create a meeting space between creators and teachers to experiment and think together. These sessions are aimed at both teachers interested in exploring the tools and methodologies of artistic practice, as well as artists interested in the pedagogical field.
With this invitation to three different artists, we aim to offer a broad range of perspectives and approaches to artistic practice in the educational context. In this way, we invite participants to discover diverse tools, methodologies, and experiences to understand the vast possibilities that the language of the body and creative practice offer as an educational tool. This program will explore themes such as: the relationship between choreography and syntax with CondeGalí BL, the idea of working with the body as a resource that gathers what we have and what we are with Laura Alcalà, and the exploration of the importance of voice and presence in teaching actions with Àngela Peris.
