Meetings between teaching teams and artists, academic year 2020–21

Alongside the educational program, Arte Factum facilitated three sessions with the participating teachers and artists. These were sessions for mutual recognition and for sharing methodological tools and embodied practices. In this way, Zones of Contact impacts not only classrooms but also El Graner, creating spaces for encounters between teachers and artists outside educational institutions.

During these shared sessions, arts and pedagogies entered into dialogue, and both bodily and methodological tools were provided, through workshops led by Bea Fernández, Alba Rihe, and Xavier Manubens, based on their work in the classrooms. In addition to activating the body, a space for conversation and debate was also created, mediated by Arte Factum, using artistic methodologies to explore the key conversation threads of this year’s edition:

  • Attention, perception, and movement in childhood
  • Bodies, fantasy, and diversity in education
  • Rituals and the gamification of learning

The (trans)formative potential of bodies, working with and from diversity, and playful strategies applied to educational and artistic contexts were some of the themes that emerged in this shared dialogue space.
