Africa Moment 2019

Africa Moment is a project aimed at the cultural diversification of the performing arts, with a non-Eurocentric and gender-aware perspective, through the promotion—within its context—of African artists and those from the African diaspora in Latin America, Europe, and Spain. It was founded in 2016 by Cameroonian artist and bio-architect Ángel Fulla.

Since 2017, they have organized five editions of the international performing arts gathering, the largest artistic event focused on contemporary Africa in Spain and a reference point at the European level.

In collaboration with Graner, the 2019 edition of Africa Moment took place in part at El Graner, from November 25 to December 6. El Graner hosted creative residencies by Nemecio Berrio and Tamia Guayasamín, as well as a program of various masterclasses and shared practices by Nadia Beugré, Nemecio Berrio and Tamia Guayasamín, Qudus Onikeku, and Aïda Colmenero. In addition, El Graner also hosted a workshop on performing arts and decolonial journalism led by journalist Clàudia Brufau, aimed at professionals of the written and spoken word.
