Camping Pantin / Île-de-France is a festival and an international platform of the CND (Centre national de la danse) for workshops and performances, a unique experience that offers encounters with artists from the international choreographic scene. Camping is an artistic space where all experiences of dance, theater, performance, and visual arts can find expression. It is intended for everyone involved in dance and the arts, whether they are students, teachers, performers, choreographers, or researchers, while also welcoming a wide audience of enthusiasts and spectators. The 8th edition of Camping featured workshops—held in Pantin and Île-de-France at numerous associated venues, and in Lyon, at the SUBS—for 700 participants, including 300 students from about thirty art schools around the world. It also includes a dozen performances, conferences, and parties: an international event that has become an unmissable appointment, without equal in the French scene.
This experience offers meetings with artists from the international choreographic scene, which is also open to other artistic fields. The guest artists from Mercat de les Flors – Graner in 2023 were Alexa Moya, Jacob Gómez, María Jurado, and Mar García. This is the second time that Mercat de les Flors – Graner has selected artists to participate in the gathering, in an effort to support and engage with contexts of knowledge transmission and exchange of enriching artistic experiences like this one. The gathering was attended by 700 “campers,” including 300 students from about thirty art schools worldwide, offering 30 workshops and around fifteen performances.
The four artists were selected through an invitation letter and participated in the workshops of Alessandro Sciarroni and Euripides Laskaridis.
In addition to the group of “campers” selected in dialogue with different international structures related to dance and movement, Camping offers places for participation in the workshops upon registration.
