GI (generated identities), de Marc Oliveras, is a dance duet set on a runway, exploring the cyclical and unfinished nature of transformation and being. The dancers embody various professional archetypes, examining how these social representations influence the construction of their identity. The piece unveils the underlying humanity behind these archetypes, reflecting on how we build and express who we are in a constantly changing world. Through its physical representation of performativity and identity, it invites the audience to explore the complexities of identity and its relationship with society.
Marc Oliveras: dancer born in Catalonia. I began my career with a degree in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts in Amsterdam, followed by a Master’s in Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. I have had the opportunity to participate in various international projects and productions, from my residency with GI (Generated Identities) in Barcelona to performances in theaters across Europe. Collaborating with companies like Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and choreographers like Marco da Silva Ferreira, I have enriched my artistic background. Nowadays, I remain immersed in the world of dance, always seeking new forms of expression and drawing inspiration from every step of the way. My dedication to the art of dance is the driving force behind my growing passion for this form of artistic expression.
