Fronterizas is the third step in Mari Paula’s anthropophagic research. The final stage performance in a trilogy –Retrópica (2017), Devórate (2019), and Fronterizas (2022)– that explores the body as an anthropophagic experiment. Fronterizas is also an interdisciplinary artistic praxis, connecting the migrant body with lighting and sound technologies, where Mari Paula, LumierScene and JPEGr work in ongoing dialogue. This process includes collaboration with artists in dramaturgy, dance, and performance such as Gustavo Bittencourt, Luz Arcas, and Aitana Cordero. In dialogue with FUNARTE (National Arts Foundation of Brazil), this is the second time we host this Brazilian artist, who previously came to Graner during the creation process of Devórate in 2019.
