Public opening of The Grooves Experience by Marina Pravkina, resident artist at Graner through the 2022 public call, in the emerging category. After several stays at Graner during the creation process of the piece, Marina opens the studio and presents the current state of her work, just before completing the technical residency she is currently undertaking.
The Grooves Experience is an exploration of the essence of clubbing and a revision of the performative stage format in the context of the club. What if we arrive at the theater but leave the party behind? Marina Pravkina seeks the essence of groove in the pulse that has remained latent in society after the closure of the great musical temples in 2020, those spaces that served to escape, reflect, and transcend the individual to reach the collective. The idea of imagining the end of the clubbing era after the pandemic restrictions leads the choreographer to bring the club experience almost as an exhibit to the stage, where the duo of dancers moves through the various bodily states of the “club body” and the dance floor, transmitting them to the audience.
