The production of some filters and supports has been carried out with the support of ACCIÓ. Estampa are 2025 residents at El Graner through an open call, in the research in scenic space category, and their open studio is part of the Electric Choreographies program of the center.
Dispersing the Spectres is an artistic research project by the Estampa collective focused on optics, light, and spectres. This open session will present three installations resulting from the creative process developed at Graner. The installations stem from the study of a specific optical material —dichroic filters— and make use of their properties to generate spatial occupation effects or to invite interaction. The outcomes oscillate between illusionism, wonder, and contemplative observation. The overarching project plays with the polysemy of the expression “dispersing the spectrum,” encompassing both the visible spectrum (the part of the electromagnetic spectrum to which our perceptual system responds) and other spectres that haunt us.
