The FID (Dance Internationalization Window) was a platform for the internationalization of Catalan dance. In 2015, the FID reached its 3rd edition (previously known as IPAM) and took place from December 6 to 8, organized by Graner. The objective of the FID was to create a meeting space for professionals and, through that meeting, promote the internationalization, distribution, and sale of projects. It was, therefore, a tool that showcased the creative uniqueness of the artists and their proposals.
In its previous editions, different operational logics and methodologies were employed, incorporating exhibition formats and meetings more oriented towards networking. For this 3rd edition, and in response to the dynamics and demands of the sector itself, the FID focused on the figure of the artist. In this way, the FID was presented as a unique internationalization action that responded to the different needs of each selected creator. From March to May 2015, four collaborative and open meetings for the dance sector were held at Graner, which shaped the objectives and dynamics of the FID 2015 project. The working sessions included the participation of various dance professionals and creators, cultural agents, festival representatives, and independent spaces linked to the sector. To structure that edition of the project, a collaborative work dynamic was created, where each participant could propose and contribute directly to the process and monitoring of the FID.
The FID 2015 was a meeting space for professionals, whose function was to deepen and give international exposure to the work and artistic universe. The 8 artists selected through an open call process were: Cris Blanco, Aimar Pérez Galí, Pere Faura, Poderío Vital, Carme Torrent and Iñaki Álvarez, Montdedutor, Diana Gadish, Maria García Vera, and Pablo Miranda.
Organized by Graner-Mercat de les Flors, with the support and collaboration of: Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona City Council, AC/E, Institut Ramon Llull, APDC, ACPDC, Hiroshima, Antic Teatre, La Piconera, and G.R.U.A.
