Dance the Internet is a workshop proposed by SADCUM centered around the piece ACLUCALLS, where different moving bodies are explored based on the effects experienced by the post-internet generation, of which the company members are a part. Both in the piece and in the workshop, concepts such as workout, screen, and computer programming are worked on. It’s a body session that provides physical tools for anyone interested in movement to discover and test how the body is affected by the virtuality of the internet (filled with moving images of bodies, many movements of many different bodies) through improvisation guidelines, personal imagination, and physical limitations.
laSADCUM is a dance project born from the hands of Guillem Jiménez aiming to rethink how to establish a ‘dance company’ in today’s world, focusing mainly on creating a generational network. The project is divided into a creation branch and a second educational one, with workshops addressing the role of dance and the body in the present time. Their latest piece, ACLUCALLS, premiered in March 2022 as part of the Dansa Metropolitana festival at the CCCB. Guillermo and the company are artists in residence at Graner 2022.
