Imagina’t is a community engagement service aimed at children, adolescents, and families, operating in the La Marina neighborhood.
The Imagina’t Project began in La Marina de Prat Vermell in 2011 as an educational and community project with a focus on applied visual arts. Its coordinator, Nieves Batista, connected with Graner in 2015 through workshops on parental skills for children aged 0-5, organized by the TIAF (Comprehensive Childhood and Family Care Board) in La Marina. This collaboration began with an exploration of the specific circumstances in Prat Vermell, where it was discovered that 60% of the neighborhood’s school-age population attended the Bàrkeno School. Simultaneously, and alongside the Barcelona Education Consortium and the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, the Consorci del Mercat de les Flors launched the TANDEM Project (2015–2017). Thanks to the implementation of the Pla de Barris, “Imagina’t” opened a new social headquarters in early 2018. This development created new collaboration opportunities, which materialized in regular working sessions involving the users of “Imagina’t” and the artist Barbara van Hoestenberghe.
